Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Define and drive BuildOps' technical strategy for engineering quality and production reliability.
- Identify systemic sources of customer-impacting failures and lead initiatives to address root causes.
- Establish architectural principles and engineering standards for reliable system design.
- Partner with engineering teams to improve resilience, operability, and testability.
- Build shared platform capabilities for release safety and automated validation.
- Advance observability strategies to enhance system behavior understanding.
- Define measures of quality and reliability to prioritize improvements.
- Lead technical programs across multiple teams, aligning stakeholders.
- Mentor engineers and technical leaders on risk and reliability.
- Evaluate and evolve existing practices and technology.
Requirements
- Significant software engineering experience at a Staff level or equivalent.
- Track record of leading initiatives that improved production reliability.
- Strong systems thinking connecting architecture, data integrity, and customer impact.
- Experience with distributed systems in a cloud environment like AWS.
- Proficient in software design and programming in TypeScript, Java, or similar.
- Familiarity with observability, resilience engineering, and CI/CD practices.
- Ability to define useful engineering measures that improve outcomes.
- Demonstrated success influencing architecture across teams.
- Strong communication skills for explaining technical risks and strategies.
- Practical approach balancing long-term direction with quick value delivery.
