Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction and roadmap for the Developer Infrastructure organization across DevX, TestX, Backend Platform, and Mobile Platform.
- Lead Bazel-based monorepo build infrastructure, remote build execution, and language-agnostic build optimization.
- Scale CI/CD pipelines, GitHub repository configurations, pre-merge checks, and test execution infrastructure for thousands of daily builds.
- Drive the vision for integration test environments and personal development environments that simulate the full Robinhood system.
- Lead adoption of AI and agentic systems, intelligent automation, automated code review, and coding agents across the software development lifecycle.
- Set technical standards for language runtimes, libraries, IDE tooling, and developer environments across Python, Go, TypeScript, Swift, and Android.
- Define long-term developer infrastructure strategy with engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Mentor senior engineers and elevate technical standards across the engineering organization.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated Senior Staff, Principal, or Distinguished Engineer-level impact.
- Deep expertise with Bazel and large-scale monorepo build systems, including remote build execution infrastructure.
- Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines at massive scale across multiple programming languages and complex pre-merge logic.
- Fluency in Go and/or Python, with broad familiarity with TypeScript, Swift, or Android development environments preferred.
- Strong background in distributed systems, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure, with AWS preferred.
- Experience with test infrastructure, integration test environments, or developer environment platforms.
- Interest in or hands-on experience with agentic AI systems, automated code review, or AI-driven developer productivity programs.
- Exceptional technical leadership, communication, influence, and organization-wide technical vision skills.
- Track record of mentoring senior engineers and leading ambiguous, organization-spanning initiatives.
