Responsibilities
- Scale Coupa platforms by balancing a consolidated codebase with microservices.
- Collaborate with Product and Development teams to build new features.
- Mentor junior engineers and review designs and implementations.
- Design and develop scalable, reliable, and secure platform services.
- Drive architecture decisions and contribute to long-term platform strategy.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to provide platform solutions.
- Improve system performance, observability, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure best practices in code quality.
- Proactively identify and resolve technical risks and production issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in software development, preferably in platform or backend engineering.
- Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go).
- Experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Solid understanding of APIs, system design, and scalable architecture patterns.
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Experience with observability tools and familiarity with DevOps practices.
- Hands-on experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and key-value stores like Redis.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, query optimization, and database performance tuning.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
