Base Salary
$138k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain secure, high-quality software solutions.
- Own end-to-end delivery of complex backend components.
- Build and maintain distributed systems, RESTful microservices, and event-driven microservices.
- Participate in design reviews and architecture discussions.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and propose system optimizations.
- Use and critically validate enterprise-authorized AI coding assistance for code generation, refactoring, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting.
- Apply responsible AI practices, including secure handling of sensitive data and validation of AI-generated outputs.
- Gather, analyze, synthesize, and visualize large datasets to support continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and technical guidance.
- Collaborate independently with peers and stakeholders to solve ambiguous technical problems.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
- Experience designing and developing distributed systems using Java.
- Experience building RESTful and event-driven microservices with Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
- Knowledge of asynchronous communication using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or equivalent systems.
- Ability to design and optimize data models in relational or NoSQL databases.
- Understanding of data consistency, replication, and transactional boundaries.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline integration for automated build, testing, and deployment.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and the ability to evaluate, validate, and refine their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and ability to guide peers on safe usage.
- Preferred: advanced knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture.
- Preferred: working knowledge of Co-Pilot, familiarity with modern front-end technologies, and exposure to cloud technologies.
