Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and optimize reusable Java applications and React frontend components.
- Develop SQL queries for DB2 or Oracle relational databases and integrate messaging systems such as RabbitMQ and IBM MQ.
- Build and consume RESTful APIs and develop scalable microservices-based solutions.
- Participate in requirements analysis, design, implementation, deployment, support, demos, and acceptance discussions throughout the SDLC.
- Write automated unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito and contribute to TDD and BDD practices.
- Document software components, conduct code reviews and design discussions, and address technical risks, performance, security, and availability concerns.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and development teams while identifying practical technical solutions and supporting continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 8+ years of overall experience.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent professional IT qualification.
- Strong Java development experience, preferably with Java 17 and at least Java 8, plus Spring Framework 6 and Spring Boot 3.
- Hands-on React JS and JavaScript frontend development experience.
- Experience with DB2 or Oracle, RESTful API design, microservices, RabbitMQ or IBM MQ, Maven, Docker, Jenkins, and Git.
- Experience with JUnit, Mockito, TDD, BDD, secure coding standards, enterprise systems architecture, and software delivery in IT projects.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, debugging, communication, collaboration, and code-review skills.
- Exposure to Apache Camel or other integration frameworks, banking or payments, Agile/Scrum environments, JIRA, HP ALM, and automation testing frameworks is preferred.
