Responsibilities
- Investigate system benchmarks, identify performance bottlenecks, and lead initiatives to improve stability, throughput, efficiency, and reliability.
- Design and deliver scalable software solutions for critical Merchant Services payment systems.
- Drive strategic technology roadmaps and platform modernization initiatives.
- Embed performance, risk controls, compliance, and service-level expectations throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Champion automation, DevSecOps, operational resilience, and platform reliability.
- Collaborate with business analysts, solution architects, engineering teams, stakeholders, and technology partners.
- Advise senior stakeholders and guide technical direction on complex, strategic assignments.
- Manage and mitigate technology risks while strengthening controls and governance.
Requirements
- Experience with large-scale platform engineering using Java and the Spring ecosystem.
- Experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, service-oriented or event-driven architectures, and platform modernization.
- Track record of driving engineering excellence through automation, DevSecOps, reliability, and operational resilience.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Knowledge of Kafka and event streaming, API engineering, Oracle and enterprise data platforms, Kubernetes, and container platforms.
- Understanding of observability, platform reliability, and CI/CD practices.
- Banking or payments experience is preferred.
- Finance and accounting technology experience is valued.
- Ability to provide strategic thinking, business acumen, risk and controls knowledge, and technology leadership.
