Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software installation packages and deployment solutions for Windows and Linux.
- Use Windows Installer, InstallShield, C#, PowerShell, Bash, and C++ to build installation tools, automation, and scripts.
- Develop automated tests and validation processes to improve installation quality and prevent regressions.
- Collaborate with development, QA, DevOps, and other cross-functional teams on installation and deployment requirements.
- Support deployment environments using Docker and Kubernetes and integrate processes with Git, Perforce, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation and deployment issues through debugging and root-cause analysis.
- Use and validate AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and technical problem-solving.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, knowledge sharing, and Agile software development practices.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of professional software development experience, preferably in software installation, deployment, build, or related technologies.
- Proficiency in C# and/or C++, with experience using PowerShell and Bash for scripting and automation.
- Understanding of Windows and/or Linux operating systems, software installation, configuration, and deployment practices.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Installer, InstallShield, or comparable installation and packaging technologies.
- Understanding of software engineering principles and the software development lifecycle.
- Experience with software testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to adopt AI-assisted software development tools and validate AI-generated code and technical recommendations.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Perforce, CI/CD, and automated build and deployment processes.
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL database technologies is a plus.
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
- Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
