Quality Assurance Engineering Specialist
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Test features and small feature sets while working with direction from senior team members or management.
- Build and maintain automated testing frameworks using Playwright, JavaScript, and Python.
- Create and execute functional, end-to-end, integration, API, manual, and performance tests.
- Execute and monitor automated test suites through Jenkins.
- Break down quality-related problems, estimate task effort, and deliver testing and use cases independently.
- Collaborate with Quality Leaders to create test plans and contribute to quality metrics and testing best practices.
- Design and implement strategies for managing complex test data across multiple environments.
- Communicate technical issues effectively to non-technical stakeholders and participate in collaborative engineering activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a STEM major.
- 2 to 4 years of experience.
- Experience with test automation using Playwright, JavaScript, and Python.
- Exposure to performance testing with JMeter.
- Experience with API automation using Postman/Playwright or RestAssured alongside SOAP/REST.
- Strong manual testing skills for deriving functional, end-to-end, and integration cases.
- Experience executing and monitoring automated test suites with Jenkins.
- Experience with project management tools such as Trello, Rally, or ADO.
- Knowledge of Docker and/or Kubernetes for testing environments.
- Proficiency with Git/GitHub for version control and collaborative code reviews.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and their testing and deployment pipelines.
- Understanding of the infrastructure required to run a large distributed web application.
- Power Systems domain software experience is advantageous.
- Ability to make basic technology choices, take ownership of small tasks, and communicate complex technical issues clearly.
