Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable server-side applications using Node.js, Express.js, and Koa.
- Design MongoDB schemas, indexes, and queries while using SQL-based databases when required.
- Build secure, reusable RESTful and GraphQL APIs and implement OAuth, JWT, and access-control systems.
- Apply security and data-protection best practices across APIs, data flows, and database systems.
- Debug production issues, analyze performance bottlenecks, and deploy fixes with minimal disruption.
- Contribute to streaming, real-time, voice, AI-powered, and agent-based systems.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, designers, and cross-functional teammates to integrate server-side and frontend functionality.
- Document code, APIs, and database schemas.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of professional backend development experience using Node.js and MongoDB.
- Proficiency with JavaScript, asynchronous programming, concurrency, non-blocking I/O, and Node.js performance optimization.
- Experience with Express.js and Koa, including middleware, routing, validation, and error management.
- Experience with MongoDB and SQL-based databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, execution plans, and indexing.
- Familiarity with OAuth, JWT, token-based authentication, role-based access control, and secure API design.
- Ability to diagnose production issues using logs and metrics and resolve root causes.
- Experience with media streaming systems, real-time audio/video, streaming protocols, low-latency architectures, or high-throughput media pipelines.
- Exposure to voice processing, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, VoIP integrations, or real-time communication systems.
- Experience integrating machine-learning models or LLM APIs and building AI-powered backend services.
- Experience designing agent-based systems, tool orchestration, workflow automation, state management, or event-driven intelligent systems.
- Strong understanding of testing with Jest, Mocha, or Chai.
- Proficiency with Git; experience with cloud platforms, containerization, and deployment pipelines is a plus.
- Familiarity with microservices, event-driven systems, Agile/Scrum, and Redis is preferred.
