Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug, maintain, and deploy Python-based applications, analytical tools, automation, and data-processing capabilities.
- Translate ambiguous sponsor and mission problems into technical approaches, architecture decisions, implementation plans, and technical requirements.
- Remain hands-on with production-quality Python development while contributing to troubleshooting, integration, testing, and deployment.
- Lead technical direction for projects, capabilities, or significant bodies of work and evaluate software, data sources, platforms, and analytical approaches.
- Work directly with sponsor personnel to understand workflows, priorities, constraints, and operational needs.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, code reviews, design reviews, and knowledge sharing to junior staff and multidisciplinary teams.
- Develop reusable tools, libraries, workflows, documentation, and engineering practices that improve sustainable mission capability.
- Collaborate with investigators, analysts, data scientists, engineers, and other technical experts on digital investigation solutions.
- Communicate technical concepts, design decisions, risks, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong experience developing, debugging, testing, and maintaining non-trivial software or analytical capabilities using Python.
- Ability to independently solve complex technical problems, make sound design decisions, and lead technical direction.
- Experience mentoring or reviewing the work of other engineers or analysts and translating user or mission needs into working solutions.
- Experience developing software that processes, transforms, analyzes, or interacts with complex datasets.
- Strong software engineering practices including version control, testing, documentation, code review, and maintainable design.
- Ability to work independently with incomplete, evolving, or operationally driven requirements and collaborate directly with sponsor stakeholders.
- U.S. citizenship and an active Secret U.S. Government security clearance are required; the candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with digital investigations, digital forensics, cybersecurity, intelligence, law enforcement, national security, OSINT, cyber threat intelligence, network analysis, malware analysis, cryptocurrency analysis, or investigative analytics.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with Python data libraries and frameworks, data pipelines, APIs, backend services, automation, analytical workflows, structured and unstructured data, databases, SQL, Linux, command-line tools, Git-based workflows, automated testing, CI/CD, containerization, external APIs, and classified government-sponsored work.
- An active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance is preferred.
