Responsibilities
- Partner with product and engineering leaders to determine how ThousandEyes technologies should evolve.
- Design, develop, maintain, and operate large-scale distributed production systems.
- Ship features integrating ThousandEyes with Cisco wireless and security product portfolios.
- Help deliver AI-powered capabilities for self-service issue diagnosis and automated network remediation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams outside the direct reporting organization.
- Mentor software engineers at various levels of experience.
- Drive measurable improvements in developer productivity.
Requirements
- Professional software engineering experience building and maintaining production-grade applications with Java, Kotlin, or C++.
- At least 4 years of experience in a technical leadership capacity designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale distributed production systems.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale internet products and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring software engineers at various experience levels.
- Demonstrated experience making measurable improvements in developer productivity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar field preferred.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies such as AWS preferred.
- Experience processing large data sets with Elasticsearch or similar data stores preferred.
- Experience with event-driven architectures such as CQRS and Kafka Streams preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of computer science and networking fundamentals preferred.
