Responsibilities
- Architect and implement solutions for internal and external customers using ByteDance’s globally scaled CDN.
- Build metrics, tools, automations, visualizations, and monitors for operating and optimizing edge services.
- Develop procedures and workflows that improve operational efficiency, trust, and compliance.
- Conduct vulnerability and capacity assessments and develop disaster recovery strategies for global CDN services.
- Participate in technical operations and rotations responding to performance and reliability issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in CDN performance engineering, solution architecting, or site reliability engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience with programming languages such as Java, C++, or Go, or scripting with Shell and Python.
- Experience operating in a multi-CDN environment and with carrier-grade networking technologies such as TCP/IP, BGP, and DNS is preferred.
- Experience designing, analyzing, and building automation and tools for large-scale systems is preferred.
- Experience developing and operating systems such as OpenStack, Kubernetes, Nginx, ipvs, ELK stack, or Hadoop is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, self-direction, and project delivery capabilities are preferred.
