Base Salary
$165k - $206k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement real-time system software architectures using SMP and AMP for embedded audio systems.
- Bring up, debug, and maintain U-Boot and embedded Linux on new hardware platforms.
- Lead board bring-up and debugging for PCBs using ARM SoCs, WiSoCs, Bluetooth SoCs, and microcontrollers.
- Develop and maintain Linux kernel drivers, HAL libraries, BSP components, and OS modules.
- Integrate vendor SDKs and BSP components into build and release processes.
- Identify platform gaps and deliver improvements for hardware prototyping and evaluation.
- Define and execute unit and integration testing for system software components.
- Coordinate with silicon and component vendors to resolve platform issues across SoCs, MCUs, NPUs, GPUs, and peripherals.
- Support hardware engineering teams with technical debugging and OS/platform modernization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of professional experience developing firmware or system software for embedded systems.
- Strong proficiency in C and C++; Python is a plus.
- Significant experience with embedded Linux, kernel internals, and device driver development.
- Experience with U-Boot, common boot flows, toolchains, and debugging tools such as gcc, binutils, and gdb.
- Experience developing with FreeRTOS and building bare-metal applications for microcontrollers.
- Strong debugging skills using JTAG, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
- Experience building performance-critical software in resource-constrained environments.
- Proficiency with Yocto Project and OpenEmbedded workflows.
- Strong understanding of Linux execution contexts, concurrency, locking, mutexes, SMP behavior, and kernel/user boundaries.
- Familiarity with DDR, NAND, PCIe, Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C, UART, I2S, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth/BLE.
- Preferred experience with HDMI, including Video, ARC/eARC, and CEC; hardware design, schematics, datasheets, low-level optimization, USBPD, and USB PD IC development.
- Experience working in Agile development environments is preferred.
