Base Salary

$125k - $175k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop highly reliable autonomous software systems and the simulations needed to validate them
  • Own software development across design, testing, and mission integration
  • Develop and maintain launch and vehicle software for the pad, ship, and booster
  • Collaborate with software and hardware engineering teams across application, operating system, networking, firmware, and simulation domains
  • Follow and maintain high software engineering standards and best practices within Starship Software

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or another engineering discipline, or 2+ years of professional software development experience in lieu of a degree
  • Proven skills in C++, Rust, or another systems programming language
  • Experience with real-time embedded systems or distributed computing systems is preferred
  • Knowledge of electronics, controls, fluid systems, motor design, or physical mechanics is preferred
  • Strong critical-thinking and first-principles problem-solving skills
  • Strong interest in designing, architecting, and implementing reliable software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with high responsibility and accountability
  • Must satisfy applicable ITAR requirements or be eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations
  • Willingness to work long hours and weekends as needed
