Responsibilities
- Drive technical direction for key product features and own strategic areas of the codebase end-to-end.
- Contribute to architecture, system design, scalability, reliability, and technology decisions across the product area.
- Develop full-stack product features for global rail customers using Java and test-driven development.
- Champion coding, testing, AI-assisted development, and engineering best practices across teams.
- Mentor and coach engineers, lead design and feature reviews, and elevate team-wide engineering capability.
- Collaborate with product management, professional services, and QA to deliver customer-focused features.
- Lead cross-team knowledge sharing through workshops and architectural documentation.
- Participate in the full development lifecycle from definition and design through delivery and post-launch ownership.
- Travel internationally to customers and other offices as required.
Requirements
- BE, BTech, MCA, or MSc IT degree with 8+ years of experience.
- Deep proficiency in Java and full-stack development, including system design, scalability, and reliability.
- Experience contributing to strategic architecture decisions and driving technical direction for key services.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented methodologies, design patterns, and enterprise application architectures.
- Experience using AI tools and engineering best practices to improve productivity and code quality.
- Hands-on experience with test-driven development and unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and EasyMock.
- Experience with relational database modeling and queries.
- Experience with open-source frameworks such as Hibernate and Spring.
- Proficiency with Git and CI systems such as TeamCity or Jenkins.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, analytical, communication, mentoring, and independent decision-making skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
