Base Salary
$90k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop software for a converged computing and storage platform for the software-defined data center.
- Design solutions for complex distributed systems and customer requirements.
- Improve the performance, scale-out capability, and resiliency of distributed storage systems.
- Collaborate with development teams, testers, documentation writers, and product management to deliver high-quality products.
- Engage with customers and support teams to resolve production issues when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required; an advanced related degree is preferred.
- Strong programming ability in one or more of C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Deep understanding of UNIX/Linux internals and familiarity with operating-system internals.
- Understanding of distributed data management and the design trade-offs involved in clustered, high-performance, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Xen; VMware is preferred.
- Familiarity with x86 architecture, virtualization, and storage management.
- Experience with file systems, operating systems, database back ends, distributed systems management, or cloud technologies is a plus.
- Experience with MapReduce, Cassandra, Zookeeper, and other large-scale distributed systems is preferred.
- Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to address difficult problems across multiple teams.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving agile environment.
