Responsibilities
- Lead the design and evolution of large-scale distributed systems and platform architectures.
- Define technical strategy and architecture across multiple teams and align engineering priorities with business and product goals.
- Drive AI-assisted development practices and AI-enabled capabilities to improve engineering effectiveness and product innovation.
- Lead complex cross-functional initiatives across multiple systems and domains.
- Identify and mitigate systemic technical risks while improving reliability, observability, performance, and operational maturity.
- Drive technical-debt reduction, legacy-system modernization, and platform-architecture improvements.
- Develop shared platform capabilities, services, tooling, and engineering practices that improve developer productivity and consistency.
- Mentor senior and staff engineers and promote engineering excellence and high-quality system design.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with technical strategy and architecture leadership across multiple teams or organizational domains.
- Deep experience designing, building, and evolving large-scale distributed systems, platform architectures, and cloud-based production environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including cloud-native architecture, scalability, reliability, security, and cost optimization.
- Ability to influence technical stakeholders and drive alignment and execution across complex and ambiguous environments without direct authority.
- Preferred: experience with .NET full-stack and API development, including Rust, C#, and/or JavaScript.
- Preferred: experience with distributed systems, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, serverless architectures, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Bicep.
- Preferred: expertise in observability, monitoring, distributed tracing, incident response, reliability engineering, and operational excellence.
- Preferred: experience with OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, secure coding, and security architecture.
- Preferred: knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, progressive deployment strategies, and modern software delivery practices.
- Preferred: experience with relational and non-relational databases and designing systems at scale.
- Preferred: experience driving engineering productivity, platform improvements, technical modernization, and AI adoption across multiple teams.
