Responsibilities
- Understand client issues and define IT strategies and architecture solutions for core banking and financial services clients.
- Design and deliver modern, scalable, resilient, observable, and secure architectures.
- Own larger and highly technical modules within complex transformation projects.
- Define target architectures, reference architectures, technology roadmaps, and architecture governance.
- Design integration architectures using REST APIs, event-driven architecture, messaging, and synchronous or asynchronous integration patterns.
- Manage architectural debt and drive technology evolution across complex enterprise estates.
- Lead teams of architects and influence senior technology and business stakeholders.
- Guide junior team members and contribute to project proposals, client care, peer relationships, practice development, and the BCG brand.
- Apply AI-assisted architecture and engineering tools to improve solution design, documentation, engineering productivity, and delivery.
- Support core banking capabilities including onboarding, customer information management, deposits, lending, payments, product catalogues, general ledgers, digital banking, open banking, and regulatory reporting.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience as a Lead Technology, Solution, or Enterprise Architect in financial services, including significant core banking transformation experience.
- Experience designing and delivering modern architectures with strong knowledge of scalability, resilience, observability, and security.
- Strong knowledge of integration architecture, including REST APIs, event-driven architecture, messaging, and synchronous or asynchronous integration patterns.
- Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and platform engineering.
- Experience defining target and reference architectures, technology roadmaps, and architecture governance for large-scale transformation programs.
- Experience managing architectural debt and driving technology evolution across complex enterprise estates.
- Thought leadership and experience leading architecture teams and influencing senior technology and business stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with one or more core banking platforms, including Temenos Transact (T24), Finacle, FIS Profile, Oracle FLEXCUBE, Avaloq, Thought Machine, Mambu, 10x Banking, Engine by Starling, or relevant Fiserv solutions.
- Deep understanding of end-to-end banking capabilities and regulated banking and security considerations.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional architecture certifications such as TOGAF and cloud certifications are desirable.
- Experience using AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, Claude, or similar is required.
