Responsibilities
- Set platform technical direction and strategic objectives with senior engineers, architects, and platform owners.
- Align architecture efforts with the central architecture function, technical standards, and enterprise objectives.
- Participate in design and code reviews to ensure business outcomes and enterprise standards are met.
- Drive architecture decisions for critical and complex problems across assigned and adjacent platforms.
- Guide technical platform architecture and engineering teams with platform owners and senior architects.
- Direct architecture toward long-term business unit and enterprise goals while partnering with business leadership on priorities.
- Capture and share engineering best practices, reference architectures, and patterns with technical teams.
- Collaborate with peers on technical matters, prototypes, system designs, and enterprise-wide research projects.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of web development or solutions architecture experience.
- Hands-on experience developing complex multi-tiered systems end to end.
- Experience across multiple IT disciplines and a confirmed understanding of architectural concepts.
- Experience with system and process analysis and large-scale technology enhancements or pivots, including pilot implementations and analysis.
- Experience working with data and DBMS technologies, including legacy and emerging databases, RDBMS, and NoSQL.
- Experience building highly available customer-facing applications in a GDHA setting.
- Experience building cloud-native applications and working with APIs.
- Experience designing highly available and resilient solutions, automating processes, improving performance, and transforming monolithic architectures into loosely coupled architectures.
- Experience in two or three of infrastructure, security, DevOps, application development, database technologies, or cloud computing.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in computer science or a related field.
