C++/Linux Software Engineer I

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test software features for ADTRAN optical transport products and the Network Element Controller.
- Develop real-time software applications and features using C/C++ in embedded Linux and RTOS environments.
- Create and maintain automated unit and integration test suites alongside production code.
- Apply object-oriented design, design patterns, algorithms, data structures, multitasking, and event-driven programming.
- Own the design of a subsystem throughout the full software development life cycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional software, systems, engineering, and architecture teams across global locations.
- Follow Software Development best practices and contribute to continuous improvement and sprint goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience programming in C++ in an embedded, RTOS, and Linux environment.
- Ability to deliver software features with minimal defects found during testing.
- Commitment to Agile/Scrum practices, software development best practices, continuous improvement, and personal growth.
- Ability to work at a desk for the majority of the day and occasionally lift 15–44 pounds.
