Responsibilities
- Design, develop, integrate, test, debug, and deploy embedded C/C++ software for optical networking products.
- Develop and maintain device drivers for fiber-optic components and other hardware subsystems.
- Collaborate with hardware teams on schematic reviews, hardware design input, board bring-up, and hardware/software integration.
- Develop unit tests, automation scripts, and test frameworks to validate firmware functionality.
- Participate in requirements, architecture, implementation, testing, documentation, code reviews, and the complete software development lifecycle.
- Work with optical, hardware, test, QA, product management, and manufacturing teams to meet product milestones and quality goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of embedded software or firmware development experience, preferably in telecommunications or networking.
- Strong proficiency in modern C/C++, including coding standards and best practices.
- Experience with RTOS, low-level debugging, hardware/software integration, embedded communication protocols, and device-driver development.
- Familiarity with ARM or other microcontroller architectures, Git, collaborative development workflows, and reading schematics.
- Experience with testing, documentation, code reviews, and troubleshooting embedded systems.
- Preferred qualifications include device-driver development for ASICs or FPGAs, CMake, Bash, Python, Ruby, Perl, CI/CD pipelines, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and diagnostic tools.
