Responsibilities
- Establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs to meet business and user-area needs.
- Lead, architect, and deliver complex software development projects from inception through production deployment.
- Perform applications analysis, design, construction, testing, implementation, user support, and operational support.
- Design and develop scalable, resilient, high-performance Python applications and secure RESTful APIs.
- Monitor and control development phases, provide technical evaluations, and resolve complex application and system issues.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor development teams, and advise new or lower-level analysts.
- Build and maintain automated deployment pipelines using CI/CD systems and cloud-native technologies.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize complex distributed applications and systems.
- Apply secure coding practices, application security principles, risk controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate with users, clients, technology groups, and senior stakeholders while managing project priorities and resources.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of progressive experience in applications development or systems analysis, with substantial Python experience.
- Expert knowledge of Python, including frameworks such as Django, Flask, and FastAPI, software architecture, distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, and object-oriented programming.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, Cassandra, and Redis.
- Experience designing, developing, and consuming secure RESTful APIs and integration patterns.
- Hands-on experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Proficiency with Pytest, unittest, automated testing, Test-Driven Development, Git, branching strategies, and pull-request workflows.
- Knowledge of secure coding, OWASP Top 10, data encryption, access control, and application security principles.
- Exposure to TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Copilot, Devin, Windsurf, Antigravity, Claude, Gemini, GPT, agentic AI tools, and generative AI concepts.
- Experience or familiarity with Java, Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, data-processing pipelines, data warehousing, React, Angular, and Vue.js.
- Strong technical leadership, project management, stakeholder communication, mentoring, resource allocation, troubleshooting, and prioritization skills.
- Relevant cloud, project-management, or Agile certifications such as AWS Certified Developer, Azure Developer Associate, Google Cloud Professional Developer, PMP, CSM, or CSPO are relevant.
- Understanding of financial-services domains, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards.
