Base Salary
$174k - $252k/yr
Responsibilities
- Write and test product or system development code for Cloud Spanner.
- Participate in or lead design reviews and evaluate available technologies.
- Review code and provide feedback on style, accuracy, testability, efficiency, and best practices.
- Contribute to and update technical documentation and educational content.
- Triage, debug, track, and resolve product or system issues by analyzing their sources.
- Collaborate with product teams and customers to deliver features for large-scale global deployments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience programming in C++.
- Experience designing and developing distributed databases or storage systems.
- Experience with concurrency, multithreading, synchronization, performance analysis, debugging, and optimization for distributed or low-level systems.
- Preferred: master’s degree or PhD in computer science or a related technical field.
- Preferred: experience with database high availability and disaster recovery, database internals, transactional database systems, and diagnosing memory leaks, data corruption, performance, and tuning issues.
- Preferred: understanding of distributed computing concepts and consensus algorithms such as Paxos.
