Responsibilities
- Design and implement database solutions, including schema changes, stored procedures, and indexing strategies.
- Perform performance tuning, query optimization, and diagnostics to resolve system bottlenecks.
- Monitor and manage database health, backups, and failover procedures across environments.
- Automate recurring maintenance and data processing tasks using SQL and scripting tools.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, product, and infrastructure teams on database design and application needs.
- Participate in code reviews, documentation, and enforcement of best practices.
- Support incident response and root cause analysis for database-related issues.
Requirements
- Require 4–6 years of experience in database engineering or administration.
- Require a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Require proficiency in SQL, scripting such as Python or Bash, and data management tools.
- Require experience with database performance tuning, monitoring, and recovery strategies.
- Require familiarity with relational and NoSQL platforms such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and DynamoDB.
- Require strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work across engineering and infrastructure teams.
