Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, deploy, support, and operate secure, scalable, and well-tested software for the Affiliate Marketing platform.
- Translate user and business requirements into technical solutions and architectural designs.
- Develop frontend and backend services using the stated technologies and implement RESTful APIs within a microservices architecture.
- Write clean, reusable, secure code and improve engineering guidelines and practices.
- Conduct code reviews, write unit tests, maintain CI/CD pipelines, and monitor applications.
- Identify and mitigate security threats and address risks proactively.
- Coach and mentor junior colleagues and participate in knowledge-sharing activities.
- Help establish ways of working, best practices, and team culture for the new engineering team.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of hands-on experience in commercial Software Engineering roles.
- Good frontend development experience, ideally with Angular.
- Extensive experience with AWS services including Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, and OpenSearch; Terraform; TypeScript; Java; Maven; Spring Boot; and Docker.
- Understanding of relational database design, SQL query optimization, SQL, and non-relational databases such as DynamoDB.
- Experience using AI tools to augment software development practices.
- Experience with Git, RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, code reviews, unit testing, CI/CD pipelines, and application monitoring.
- Knowledge of information security and the ability to design solutions that mitigate security threats.
- Understanding of SOLID principles and a commitment to refactoring and continuous improvement.
- Preferred experience with TDD, pair programming, PHP, Redis, Memcached, Kafka, Kinesis, or SQS.
- Interest in agile processes such as Scrum or Kanban.
