Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate in-orbit application software for satellite systems.
- Develop and maintain platform applications for hardware-constrained satellite and ground station systems.
- Define and evolve satellite and ground station core software architecture.
- Enhance existing software by expanding test coverage and improving documentation.
- Collaborate in technical discussions and peer reviews to ensure high-quality code.
- Provide expert-level support to the satellite operations team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of professional software development experience in Python.
- 2+ years of embedded software development experience.
- Experience across the full software development life cycle, including design, coding, testing, documentation, and debugging.
- Proficiency with GNU/Linux for software development.
- Expertise in Python and Bash scripting, and understanding of TCP/IP and HTTP protocols.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Docker containerization.
- Strong knowledge of Git and version control platforms such as GitLab.
- Fluent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Preferred experience includes C++, FreeRTOS or other real-time operating systems, GNU/Linux boot processes, device drivers, process management, and I2C, RS232, SPI, or CAN protocols.
