Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and support backend microservices for partner-facing features including fraud reporting, case management, RFI handling, audit logging, and transaction visibility.
- Build and maintain permissions, role-based access control, partner onboarding, and communication services for the Partner Portal.
- Implement SAML 2.0 SSO integrations and identity mapping between enterprise partner systems and Wise.
- Design consistent, documented, usable APIs for partner-facing endpoints.
- Collaborate with FinCrime, Compliance, KYC, product, design, and adjacent engineering teams on partner workflows and dependencies.
- Conduct technical discovery, map existing systems and dependencies, and produce design documents.
- Provide production support and debug live partner issues.
Requirements
- Experience designing, building, and deploying backend microservices with Java and Spring Boot.
- Familiarity with domain-driven design, event-driven architecture, and microservices patterns.
- Commercial experience designing and maintaining APIs, including OpenAPI/Swagger, OAuth2, and versioning strategies.
- Experience designing and maintaining relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, including query performance, indexing, and data modeling.
- Ability to investigate complex technical landscapes, document findings, manage ambiguity, and work independently.
- Ability to collaborate with adjacent teams and understand enterprise requirements for reliability, auditability, compliance, and security.
- Preferred experience with enterprise portals, partner platforms, B2B SaaS, payments, cross-border money movement, identity and access management, SAML, SSO, SPIFFE, OAuth2, Kafka or other event-streaming platforms, and platform teams.
- Ability to explain technical decisions to product managers, partners, and compliance teams; interest in international finance, foreign exchange, or payments infrastructure is preferred.
