Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-performance, fault-tolerant connector integrations and adapters for mission-critical workflows.
- Architect distributed microservices and multi-tenant SaaS systems using cloud-native design patterns.
- Build and optimize data pipelines supporting REST, SOAP, GraphQL, gRPC, webhooks, and synchronous, asynchronous, and event-driven communication.
- Drive technical decisions, contribute to RFCs and architectural reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
- Implement monitoring, logging, tracing, and operational practices for deployed systems.
- Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and SRE teams to deliver features, resolve production incidents, and improve reliability.
- Champion code reviews, testing strategies, security hardening, and performance optimization.
- Contribute to platform infrastructure and developer experience initiatives.
Requirements
- 7+ years designing and building large-scale distributed backend systems with high-throughput and low-latency requirements.
- 5+ years working with multi-tenant SaaS architectures in production, including tenant isolation, rate limiting, and resource management.
- Proven ability to drive system design, participate in architectural decisions, and mentor engineers.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and production incident diagnosis skills for distributed systems.
- Deep experience with microservices architecture, service decomposition, API design, and inter-service communication.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, plus familiarity with Kubernetes and serverless patterns.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including SOLID principles, design patterns, system design, and unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Expert-level Java experience, including object-oriented programming, concurrency, performance tuning, memory management, and the Java ecosystem.
- Experience with REST, SOAP, GraphQL, gRPC, HTTP semantics, caching, rate limiting, and error handling.
- Hands-on experience with RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS, or similar messaging and event-streaming systems.
- Strong SQL and database optimization experience, plus experience with MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Cassandra.
- Proficiency with Docker and production experience with Kubernetes or container runtimes.
- Advanced Git workflows and experience with GitHub or similar platforms.
- Working knowledge of GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, or similar CI/CD tools, plus build pipelines, deployment scripts, and infrastructure as code.
- Comfort with the Linux command line and operating-system concepts including memory allocation, processes, file systems, and networking.
- Experience with ELK, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, or Zipkin for observability.
- Strong written and verbal communication, self-direction, collaboration, mentoring ability, and comfort working in a distributed remote team.
