Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate production-grade infrastructure across Microsoft Azure AKS and Google Cloud GKE.
- Develop reusable Terraform modules and manage infrastructure state, configuration, dependencies, and lifecycle changes.
- Design and operate Kubernetes platforms, including networking, ingress, egress, routing, and policy enforcement.
- Implement Istio and Envoy capabilities, service-mesh traffic management, mutual TLS, authorization policies, and zero-trust controls.
- Build Helm charts, Argo CD GitOps workflows, and Azure DevOps pipelines for infrastructure and application delivery.
- Establish automated checks and improve release processes to make deployments observable, repeatable, and recoverable.
- Define service-level indicators, objectives, health metrics, dashboards, alerts, and operational runbooks.
- Diagnose distributed-system and networking issues using metrics, logs, traces, and system evidence.
- Participate in on-call operations, investigate incidents, lead root-cause analyses, and implement systemic corrective actions.
- Improve platform reliability through capacity planning, failure testing, rollback design, and operational automation.
- Author and review technical designs, gather requirements, estimate work, communicate trade-offs, and remove dependencies.
- Collaborate with application, security, SRE, cloud platform, and operations teams.
- Provide code and design reviews, mentor engineers, and improve engineering standards and practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in cloud, platform, DevOps, or SRE roles in production environments.
- Experience with Azure AKS, Google Cloud GKE, Kubernetes operations and networking, platform abstractions, Istio, Envoy, Terraform, Helm, and on-call incident response.
- Ability to script or program in Go, Python, or Bash.
- Preferred experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, OpenTelemetry, advanced Envoy configuration, zero-trust architecture, Azure and GCP networking, Argo CD, Azure DevOps pipelines, progressive delivery, canary deployments, disaster recovery, FedRAMP, SOC standards, developer self-service infrastructure, technical hiring, and engineering mentorship.
- Strong communication skills for managing technical trade-offs, risks, and project estimation.
