Responsibilities
- Develop, troubleshoot, enhance, and document software components in line with strategic initiatives and detailed requirements.
- Translate requirements into functional specifications, coordinate design phases, and identify, track, and resolve technical issues.
- Create and review technical design documents and facilitate design, troubleshooting, and project execution meetings.
- Participate in walkthrough reviews of technical specifications, programs, code, and unit test plans.
- Conduct unit testing using automated testing frameworks and improve function performance through performance tuning.
- Plan design and implementation activities, ensure solution quality, provide third-level technology support, and contribute to platform evolution.
- Present technical topics at TSA meetings, plan work packages, and estimate design, coding, and unit-testing activities.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on computer science, engineering, or technology.
- Eligible to complete a full 8-month co-op term with the school.
- Experience or understanding of programming languages, databases, platforms, frameworks, design techniques and tools, code management tooling, and/or web technologies.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, including Agile, Waterfall, and Iterative methods.
- Leadership acumen, strong interpersonal and communication skills, creativity, analytical thinking, self-direction, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of Unified Modeling Language is preferred.
- Ability to hand-code all components and cross-browser development experience are preferred.
