Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, code, and debug BMC firmware using server hardware architecture and system design knowledge.
  • Develop platform BMC reference code and related documentation for ZT Cloud Servers.
  • Review firmware, software architecture, and design specifications and provide technical feedback.
  • Create design documents and plan for reliability and compatibility based on motherboard and BMC specifications.
  • Plan and execute reference code and collateral.
  • Participate in key product development and technical teams.
  • Participate in new platform power-on events.
  • Engage cross-team validation organizations throughout planning, development, and validation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 5 years of BMC development experience, including user interface or presentation layer development.
  • Knowledge of server hardware interfaces and specifications including SMBus/I2C, PCIe, ACPI, DDR, IPMI, 10G/1G Ethernet, SATA, and SPI.
  • Understanding of processor and enterprise system-level architectures.
  • Extensive hardware knowledge covering enterprise platforms, BMCs, drivers, I/O technologies, x86 CPUs, memory controllers, I/O hubs, and PC architecture.
  • Working knowledge of BIOS functions as they relate to BMC.
  • Experience with board-level diagnostic tools and utilities.
  • Demonstrated C coding and x86 Assembly language skills.
  • Knowledge of operating system internals and their interaction with BMC functions.
  • Experience with OpenBMC or Redfish is preferred.
