Responsibilities
- Build end-to-end product features across responsive web interfaces, APIs, backend services, and data models.
- Design, build, and evolve scalable backend APIs, services, and data flows for reliable multi-tenant SaaS capabilities.
- Contribute to user-facing experiences and integrations in partnership with front-end engineers.
- Write maintainable code, participate in code reviews, and improve testing, performance, accessibility, security, and observability.
- Investigate production issues, participate in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation, and complete post-incident follow-ups.
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to clarify trade-offs and deliver customer value.
- Build skills and automations that help infrastructure and application engineering teams implement, build, and deploy services faster and more reliably.
- Improve observability, alerting, and cost visibility in line with resource-tagging and telemetry standards.
- Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly for learning, implementation, testing, and documentation.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience delivering production web applications or SaaS products.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider: Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
- Strong programming experience in at least one backend language such as Go, Java, Python, or Node.js.
- Experience designing and developing APIs, backend services, and SDKs.
- Understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, asynchronous processing, and scalable, reliable systems.
- Experience shipping user-facing features with attention to usability, performance, reliability, security, and interaction design.
- Ability to write clean, well-tested code and work with code review, debugging, and ambiguous technical problems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a distributed, global team.
- Comfort designing and implementing in an AI-first organization.
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with multi-tenant SaaS systems, event-driven architecture, message buses or queues, and high-throughput distributed services is a bonus.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, production observability, AI/ML-powered product capabilities, reusable component libraries, developer tooling, or open-source projects is a bonus.
- Exposure to metrics, logs, traces, and OpenTelemetry is a bonus.
- Working knowledge of infrastructure as code, ideally Terraform, plus YAML, Helm charts, HCL, and Argo CD is a bonus.
