Responsibilities
- Build, ship, and operate scalable and robust software for large-scale text processing.
- Implement and help drive the technical roadmap and product implementation, including prioritization and planning.
- Partner with dependent engineering teams to maintain uninterrupted service.
- Identify gaps in knowledge, tools, and processes and address them with managers and product managers.
- Improve development practices and build tooling to enforce engineering standards.
- Work in small engineering teams through code reviews, demos, research spikes, and daily collaboration.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of software development experience with Java in production environments.
- BA/BS degree in computer science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience integrating AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude into development workflows, including reviewing, benchmarking, and refactoring generated code.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Preferred experience with event-driven and streaming architectures such as Kafka.
- Preferred experience with Docker and Kubernetes for application deployment and container orchestration.
- Preferred experience with API frameworks such as Swagger or RAML and API lifecycle infrastructure and management tools.
- Preferred PostgreSQL experience in data modeling, schema design, and query optimization.
