Base Salary

$210k - $350k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the foundational architecture for GEICO’s Generative AI and agentic workflow platforms.
  • Serve as the final technical authority for complex architectural decisions spanning multiple products, teams, and business domains.
  • Design platform components for knowledge management, search and retrieval, prompt and context management, workflow orchestration, action execution, and semantic and knowledge graph systems.
  • Define multi-year technical strategies and roadmaps for AI platform capabilities and Generative AI applications.
  • Evaluate build-versus-buy tradeoffs and select core technologies, frameworks, infrastructure, and managed-service integrations.
  • Define reference architectures and best practices for GenAI application development, deployment, and integration.
  • Identify high-impact GenAI opportunities with business stakeholders and measure application impact and business outcomes.
  • Lead technical reviews, architectural assessments, and design discussions for critical AI and GenAI initiatives.
  • Collaborate across engineering, data science, ML, product, and design organizations to establish technical direction and standards.
  • Mentor senior engineers and technical leads and reinforce practices for reliability, observability, operational excellence, and engineering quality.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of professional software engineering experience with deep expertise in large-scale distributed systems.
  • Extensive experience architecting and building multi-component AI/ML platforms involving search and retrieval, data platforms, streaming, distributed processing, workflow orchestration, LLM application frameworks, and GenAI observability and evaluation.
  • Hands-on experience with vector databases, embedding pipelines, retrieval-augmented generation architectures, agentic frameworks, and multi-agent systems.
  • Strong full software development lifecycle ownership, including production operations, Kubernetes, monitoring, and CI/CD.
  • Deep experience with major cloud platforms including AWS and Azure.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience building production systems with LLMs and Generative AI technologies such as GPT, Llama, Mistral, and Claude.
  • Extensive architectural leadership, cross-organization influence, technical decision-making, and mentorship experience.
