Base Salary
$166k - $243k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a data engineering pod while setting technical direction, delivery standards, workload priorities, and roadmap execution.
- Architect and oversee EDW pipelines, cloud data solutions, batch and streaming systems, and AI/RAG data infrastructure.
- Set team standards for SQL, data modeling, semantic layers, schema and pipeline design, source management, version control, QA/testing, and AI-assisted development.
- Own pipeline metrics, SLA/SLO tracking, data-quality reporting, root-cause analysis, mitigation plans, and back-to-green efforts for missed KPIs.
- Translate business and clinical stakeholder needs into actionable technical plans and serve as the team's primary technical liaison.
- Coordinate with data science, security, and compliance teams to ensure platform readiness and enforce security, privacy, and AI-risk standards.
- Own team documentation, SOPs, escalation paths, cloud and AI/vector-database cost input, and on-call escalation responsibilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 8–12 years of experience in technology with significant data-centric leadership.
- 6–8 years of hands-on experience architecting data solutions on a cloud platform.
- At least 2 years of formally leading engineers or technical workstreams.
- Expert-level SQL, data modeling, and semantic-layer design experience.
- Experience with batch and streaming architecture, including Spark, Airflow, Databricks, or Snowflake.
- Preferred Cloud Professional Data Engineer or ML Engineer certification.
- Preferred experience with HIPAA, HL7, and FHIR compliance frameworks.
- Preferred experience setting standards for LLM/RAG data architecture at scale.
- Ability to mentor engineers, prioritize delivery, communicate with stakeholders and audiences of 10+, and manage complex pipeline or data-quality issues.
