Responsibilities
- Lead backend development and hands-on execution across JobGet’s products.
- Shape technical strategy and align engineering roadmaps with broader business goals.
- Design and evaluate scalable, flexible architectures across a multi-product, multi-team environment.
- Write clean, efficient, production-ready code and resolve architectural, performance, and stability issues.
- Define testing standards, improve automated test coverage, and partner with QA on test strategies.
- Lead incident response and postmortem processes for high-severity issues.
- Evaluate and integrate AI-powered tools to improve developer productivity and operational efficiency.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, design feedback, technical discussions, and engineering best practices.
- Drive projects end-to-end, make significant technical decisions, and build consensus across product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience leading and executing technically complex, high-impact initiatives.
- Recent experience on a small, agile startup team across all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Primary experience with Go and comfort working across .NET and TypeScript codebases.
- Experience implementing event-driven architecture in microservices ecosystems using tools such as Apache Kafka.
- Experience creating database schemas that represent and support business processes.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
- Strong experience with AWS and understanding of its capabilities and limitations.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
- Deep software engineering fundamentals and experience with multi-product architectures.
- Experience operating across organizational boundaries, influencing without authority, building consensus, and communicating with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in an environment shaped by acquisitions or rapid growth is valued.
- Demonstrated ownership, sound technical judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and a measurable record of impact.
