Base Salary
$175k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain core product features across frontend and backend.
- Own end-to-end feature development from product requirements through production deployment, iteration, and scale.
- Build intuitive interfaces for complex scientific and data workflows.
- Develop scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines.
- Collaborate with product, design, ML, and scientific teams to translate user needs into technical solutions.
- Make architectural decisions balancing speed, scalability, reliability, and developer velocity.
- Improve system performance, reliability, and observability as usage and data volumes grow.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code and contribute to technical planning, code reviews, and platform evolution.
- Mentor junior engineers and help raise overall engineering standards.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong production experience with Python and React and proficiency with Django.
- Experience designing and working with GraphQL APIs, including schema design, performance considerations, and client-server data modeling.
- Experience with scalable systems, databases, and data-intensive applications.
- Strong understanding of system design, software architecture, and engineering best practices.
- Experience shipping and owning production systems used by real customers.
- Experience with technical or scientific users, data-heavy or ML-enabled platforms, cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, mentoring or leading engineers, or biotech, life sciences, or R&D workflows is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
