Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of complex software solutions across multiple services, applications, or programs.
  • Translate functional and non-functional requirements into scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainable designs.
  • Drive architectural decisions, technical design discussions, and strategic technology decisions across teams.
  • Own engineering delivery across design, development, testing, deployment, configuration, documentation, and operational readiness.
  • Review design, code, test, and deployment artifacts for correctness, quality, security, performance, and maintainability.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex production, security, customer-experience, and performance issues through root-cause analysis.
  • Champion automation across build, deployment, testing, observability, and operational workflows.
  • Improve architecture simplicity, technical debt, cost efficiency, platform reuse, engineering productivity, and developer experience.
  • Consult across organizational boundaries and contribute to engineering guilds, architecture forums, and technical communities.
  • Mentor engineers and represent technical strategy in senior-level forums and cross-functional discussions.

Requirements

  • Established software engineering expert and technical thought leader with a strong record of individual-contributor impact.
  • Proven experience designing, developing, and delivering complex software solutions across large-scale, distributed, secure, and resilient systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead global or cross-functional technical initiatives involving technology, engineering, architecture, product, or business teams.
  • Deep experience with software engineering practices, secure coding, code review, testing strategies, and operational readiness.
  • Progressive design and development experience using multiple languages and software frameworks, including vulnerability management.
  • Expert understanding of architecture patterns, application design, APIs, microservices, integration patterns, event-driven architectures, and modern software delivery.
  • Experience translating complex business and functional requirements into technical strategies, designs, and implementation plans.
  • Strong understanding of automation, observability, reliability, scalability, and performance engineering practices.
  • Ability to balance regulatory, security, business value, customer experience, technical debt, and delivery considerations.
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, mentoring, and stakeholder-influence skills.
  • Experience contributing to engineering communities, architecture councils, technical blogs, white papers, patents, or speaking engagements is preferred.
  • Experience setting up production-simulating test environments with high availability, monitoring, automation, and ephemeral architecture is preferred.
