Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of new capabilities in Kubernetes operators from technical design through production support.
- Work with Product and MongoDB feature teams to turn capabilities into Kubernetes-native APIs.
- Write technical designs, evaluate trade-offs, and drive teams and stakeholders to decisions.
- Shape predictable, self-service, and safe-to-operate platform APIs.
- Mentor engineers through pairing, code review, and design feedback.
- Partner with platform, Support, Docs, and engineering teams to resolve complex customer issues.
- Improve testing strategy, release quality, and developer experience.
Requirements
- Several years of production software engineering experience in a modern programming language, primarily Go.
- Experience building platforms for other engineers, such as Kubernetes controllers and operators, internal developer platforms, or developer-facing infrastructure products.
- Deep working knowledge of Kubernetes APIs, reconciliation, and operating workloads on Kubernetes.
- Experience designing, testing, and operating distributed systems in production.
- A track record of leading projects through ambiguity and delivering them end to end.
- Strong written communication and technical design documentation skills.
- Preferred experience with controller-runtime, Kubebuilder, Kubernetes ecosystem projects, multi-cluster Kubernetes, networking, service mesh, stateful workloads or databases on Kubernetes, or a major public cloud provider.
