Responsibilities
- Build end-to-end features across modern web applications supporting Spotify’s global subscription business.
- Create internal products for launching, configuring, and managing Premium offers through secure, guided workflows.
- Develop GraphQL and gRPC APIs connecting frontend applications with distributed platform services.
- Design database schemas, implement migrations, and optimize application performance using PostgreSQL.
- Build secure, reliable, auditable systems supporting financial operations and SOX-compliant approval workflows.
- Contribute to shared platform capabilities, developer experience, technical design, architecture discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement.
- Write maintainable, well-tested software and participate in an on-call rotation.
Requirements
- Experience building and delivering production software across the front end.
- Experience building modern web applications with TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
- Experience designing or consuming GraphQL APIs.
- Experience with gRPC services and Protocol Buffers, or willingness to deepen distributed-systems expertise.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database, including schema design, migrations, and query optimization.
- Commitment to reliable, maintainable, and well-tested software.
- Ability to collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and business stakeholders.
- Experience with tools such as jOOQ, Flyway, Apollo GraphQL, DataLoader, Styled Components, Storybook, TanStack Query, Tailwind CSS, Material UI, or similar technologies is beneficial.
- Experience with commerce platforms, subscription products, pricing systems, distributed systems, or large-scale platform modernization initiatives is beneficial.
