Base Salary
$149k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define cloud security standards, guardrails, and reference architectures for Infrastructure, SRE, and Product Engineering.
- Set the roadmap for high-impact cloud security work and lead cross-functional initiatives from scoping through delivery.
- Own threat modeling, secure-by-default architecture, IAM strategy, cloud posture assessment, and risk prioritization across AWS and GCP.
- Design cloud threat detections and SIEM rules, lead cloud incident response and forensics, and codify findings into playbooks and preventative controls.
- Own security tooling including CrowdStrike, Tenable, and native cloud security services, as well as cloud vulnerability management.
- Set security standards for self-managed Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD supply chains, patch management, base-image hardening, and version management.
- Lead security practices for distributed systems and self-managed data stores such as MongoDB.
- Mentor engineers and represent cloud security in architecture and design forums.
Requirements
- Several years of production cloud security ownership, including being on-call for cloud security.
- Hands-on experience with AWS as the primary cloud, GCP, and self-managed Kubernetes.
- Ability to read and write code in Python and Terraform.
- Experience with secure cloud architecture, threat modeling, IAM, detection engineering, incident response, cloud forensics, and vulnerability management.
- Ability to lead ambiguous, cross-functional security initiatives and establish standards and playbooks.
- Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to security and platform engineers.
