Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and debug real-time embedded firmware for IoT gateways, lighting control, and environmental monitoring and control systems.
- Maintain, optimize, and improve firmware for existing RTOS-based devices.
- Contribute to system-level architecture decisions for multi-module communication.
- Document software architecture, tuning methods, and test results.
- Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Troubleshoot firmware issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with QA and manufacturing on production firmware validation, factory firmware, and calibration procedures.
- Work cross-functionally with BSP, hardware, industrial design, backend, mobile, frontend, product management, and product assurance teams.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, socket programming, HTTP, WebSockets, or MQTT in IoT systems.
- Experience developing firmware in an RTOS environment such as FreeRTOS or Zephyr.
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded RTOS environments.
- Understanding of memory management, interrupt handling, and power management in constrained systems.
- Familiarity with Git version control.
- Preferred experience with Ethernet, Wi-Fi, BLE, or Thread communication protocols.
- Preferred experience with UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO, ADC/DAC, PWM, RS485, and other peripheral interfaces.
- Preferred ability to define and implement custom communication protocols for heterogeneous systems.
- Preferred experience with CoAP, low-power firmware design, sensor integration, OTA update systems, bootloaders, secure provisioning, manufacturing test firmware, hardware calibration, and diagnostic modes.
- Preferred experience with ESP-IDF, Silicon Labs Gecko SDK, or Linux-based MCU co-processors.
- Must be self-motivated, goal-driven, collaborative, and comfortable tackling difficult challenges.
