Responsibilities
- Bring up new devices and lead debugging and performance-tuning efforts across hardware, firmware, and software teams.
- Design, implement, and maintain drivers and Android services for embedded payment platforms.
- Own work streams involving hardware bring-up, peripheral drivers and communication, and power and performance optimization.
- Analyze bug reports, manage defect resolution, and report issue status.
- Create and maintain high-quality implementations through code reviews and collaboration with QA on test cases.
- Use telemetry analysis and automated testing to proactively resolve issues and support reliable product development.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of software engineering experience in device driver development, embedded systems, or operating systems.
- At least 2 years of experience working with mobile or other connected devices.
- Experience with automated testing, build systems, and inter-component communication protocols such as UART, GPIO, SPI, and I2C.
- Proficiency in C/C++ or Kotlin/Java and experience with Android OS and related development tools.
- A degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience adding, monitoring, and parsing telemetry data.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin Chinese.
- Preferred qualifications include ARM platforms, microcontrollers, EMV, cryptography, POS hardware and peripherals, PCI technology, transaction processing, and retail standards.
