Responsibilities
- Improve Elasticsearch’s components for concurrent and consistent indexing across multiple machines.
- Maintain the cluster coordination system to ensure high performance despite node changes.
- Push the limits on the number of shards, nodes, and petabytes handled by Elasticsearch.
- Investigate performance and concurrency issues, proposing effective solutions.
- Support support engineers with complex problems.
Requirements
- Strong background in distributed systems and consensus algorithms.
- Proficient in core Java and familiar with data structures and concurrency constructs.
- Deep technical proficiency in algorithms.
- Experience with complex, highly distributed systems.
- Ability to build and debug impactful features across multiple machines.
- Capability to own projects from technical design to development.
