Responsibilities
- Develop and own high-performance forwarding features within the IOS-XR platform.
- Implement NPU data-plane logic, microcode, and SDK interactions for efficient packet processing.
- Write production-grade C/C++ code for QoS, mirroring, slow path, OAM, Layer 2, and Layer 3 forwarding technologies.
- Debug complex embedded software issues using logs, core dumps, packet traces, and root-cause analysis.
- Profile and optimize software to reduce latency and meet service-provider performance requirements.
- Use AI/LLM-based tools for code generation, unit-test creation, static analysis, and debugging.
Requirements
- 7+ to 10 years of experience in embedded software development for networking products.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ and scripting experience with Python.
- Knowledge of carrier-grade networking operating systems and forwarding architectures.
- Experience debugging complex embedded software issues.
- Experience with ClearCase, Valgrind, DDTS, GDB, or similar tools.
- Preferred experience with IOS-XR or comparable carrier-grade network operating systems.
- Preferred knowledge of TCP/UDP, IPv4/IPv6, Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, QoS, and ACLs.
- Preferred experience with BCM, Silicon One, and Ezchip NPU programming.
- Familiarity with AI/ML tools for software engineering, including Copilot and AI-based log analysis.
