Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of distributed, microservice-based Payments applications.
- Set technical direction for Payments platform architecture and front-to-back re-engineering initiatives.
- Conduct design reviews, architecture decision records, and technical deep dives while ensuring reliability, performance, scalability, and observability.
- Introduce and operationalize agent-based engineering workflows across the software development lifecycle using tools such as Claude Code.
- Build agent-ready codebases through modular design, documentation, and comprehensive test coverage.
- Lead or contribute to agentic development initiatives, including a potential new wallet solution proof of concept.
- Evaluate AI-generated code for quality, correctness, architectural alignment, and security.
- Develop internal best practices, training materials, standards, frameworks, and tooling for agent-accelerated engineering.
- Translate product requirements into scalable technical solutions and deliver high-quality software.
- Implement automated testing and continuous integration practices and resolve complex distributed-system issues.
- Mentor engineers on system design, coding practices, and agent-centric engineering patterns.
- Collaborate across global engineering and product teams and champion continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 12–15+ years of software engineering experience in backend or full-stack development.
- Expertise with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, cloud-native patterns, and distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of Azure or AWS and Docker/Kubernetes containerization.
- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Azure Service Bus.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases including SQL Server and MongoDB.
- Understanding of Git, DevOps tooling, test automation frameworks, and continuous integration practices.
- Experience with cross-border payments or financial markets and participation in large transformation programs.
- Experience introducing engineering methodologies involving AI/ML, agentic development, DevOps, or cloud migrations.
- Hands-on experience with Claude Code, Copilot Workspace, or equivalent agentic development tools.
- Ability to orchestrate multi-agent workflows for refactoring, debugging, dependency updates, and code generation.
- Understanding of how modularity, documentation, and test coverage affect agent output.
- Experience evaluating and validating AI-generated code and building agent-powered engineering frameworks or tooling at scale.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, curiosity, and forward-thinking skills.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
