Base Salary
$90k - $132k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop VirtIO virtual devices that expose virtualized hardware to guest operating systems with low-latency and high-throughput communication.
- Collaborate with hardware vendors and Android AOSP teams to co-design device drivers, memory mappings, and interrupt handling.
- Support customers and field engineering teams with integration, troubleshooting, and tailored middleware solutions.
- Optimize real-time performance across kernel-space drivers, user-space libraries, and the broader systems stack through profiling and tuning.
- Contribute to functional safety compliance, virtualization and embedded-security trends, product roadmaps, and design discussions.
Requirements
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming and foundational knowledge of real-time systems gained through internships, coursework, or complex personal projects.
- Familiarity with or exposure to QNX RTOS, including its kernel, device drivers, IPC, and memory management.
- Understanding of VirtIO, hypervisors, or Android AOSP framework layers is preferred.
- Basic understanding of QEMU and Xen is desirable.
- Foundational exposure to DMA, interrupts, memory mapping, and device-driver architecture.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across hardware, operating-system, and application teams.
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
