Base Salary
$189k - $255k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build production-quality tools, automation systems, and self-healing mechanisms for large-scale identity systems.
- Develop self-service tools and services that help engineers troubleshoot and triage issues at scale.
- Build and evolve observability capabilities to detect and isolate issues across massive-scale systems.
- Support cost and capacity management by identifying savings opportunities and automating optimization.
- Use AI to address complex operational and auto-healing problems.
- Coach engineers through pairing, code reviews, and technical leadership.
- Evaluate and promote processes, tools, technologies, and architectures for secure, scalable, highly available cloud systems.
- Partner with Architecture, Product, and Operations on infrastructure target state, resilience, and operational excellence practices.
- Contribute to failure mode analysis and chaos engineering to identify resiliency gaps.
- Lead incident management and root cause analysis and participate in a 12/7 on-call rotation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience designing, developing, and operating complex, high-scale, highly available distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native architecture and AWS or GCP environments.
- Experience using AI to build tools and solve operational and auto-healing problems.
- Strong coding ability in Python, Java, Go, or similar languages combined with operational expertise.
- Experience with infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform or CDK; CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or CircleCI; Kubernetes; containerization with Docker or ECS; and monitoring and alerting tools such as Splunk, Wavefront, or Grafana Mimir.
- Strong Linux/Unix fundamentals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborate across roles and experience levels, and communicate effectively.

- The position may include a cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits under applicable company plans and programs.
- The expected base pay range is $188,500–$255,000 in San Diego; compensation varies based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
