Base Salary
$189k - $272k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain the core simulation engine and its adapter layer for vehicle autonomy middleware integration.
- Lead development of ego-vehicle dynamics and multi-body physics models and integrate external rendering and sensor-simulation engines.
- Own the mathematical logic and backend execution framework for unified simulation evaluation metrics.
- Set technical direction for the simulation engine and maintain determinism and performance across the stack.
- Lead design and code reviews, collaborate with the Hardware-in-the-Loop team on integration hooks, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in computer science, robotics, mechanical or aerospace engineering, physics, or a related technical field, or comparable knowledge or experience.
- At least five years of hands-on software engineering experience focused on simulation, robotics, or physics-based systems.
- Expert proficiency in modern C++ and Python with experience architecting large-scale, performance-critical software.
- Experience designing simulation loops, working with vehicle dynamics, or integrating robotics middleware and external engines.
- Prior experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Strong software architecture skills for modular simulation or robotics systems and deterministic, reproducible environments.
- Solid grounding in vehicle dynamics, multi-body physics, or related numerical modeling.
- Desirable experience includes autonomous vehicles or advanced robotics, high-fidelity rendering, sensor-simulation pipelines, machine learning integration, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and deterministic or real-time computing.
