Base Salary
$239k - $299k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, implementation, and long-term roadmap for core systems supporting multiple fraud prevention use cases.
- Own end-to-end delivery of large cross-functional projects and drive them to measurable outcomes.
- Design, build, and operate highly available, low-latency backend systems for real-time fraud scoring and decisioning.
- Partner with Data Science and ML teams to productionize models, build reliable ML data pipelines, and enable real-time model serving.
- Establish department-level engineering best practices, review designs, and advise on architectural tradeoffs.
- Mentor and grow engineers while sharing technical direction and documented learnings.
- Influence stakeholders, align teams, communicate tradeoffs, and independently resolve cross-team issues.
Requirements
- 7–10+ years of software development experience with a strong backend focus.
- Knowledge of Haskell or enthusiasm to learn it.
- Prior experience as a technical lead making architectural decisions and evaluating their long-term impact.
- Experience building and shipping new products while balancing reliability and velocity.
- Ability to lead ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives, communicate technical tradeoffs, and operate autonomously.
- Experience in fintech, fraud systems, or the broader risk domain is a strong plus.
